cactus flowers

These are the blooms we saw up on the mountain. These aren't bloomin the desert (the cholla is, next time, pictures of that!) These high up. Leonardo brought one home, it's in a pot on our doorstep!

This is the rock we clambered up to for painting/drawing. This is headed up toward Truchas Peak, the big one, right at the end of our own County Road 75. The peak itself would be off to husband's left. Note the sky behind him.

Now note that same sky, about an hour later. We decided it was time to go back down.

This is just an awesome cloud. Taken from our front step here at the home adobe.

Here's your's truly again, fooling around with artsy-fartsy self-portraits.

The mural! That's two sheets of 4' x 8' plywood holding this thing up. See? It really is 15 feet long. And battered by the wind, rain, and hail.

Here it is from the other side. Driveway is rather narrow. You'll get a shot of it when we actually get it up in it's proper place.

An ancient adobe that is for sale. We called the faded number but have heard nothing. My husband asked, in disbelief, "you LIKE that?" Well yeah. But maybe it's a bit TOO funky for practical purposes.

Yeah, but get a load of this! This is the other building that goes with the skinny adobe! Would this be a deal or what? I bet we could fix this one up! It's still got electric wires hooked up and a meter! Potential!

OK. This is the "melting adobe ruin" (my words) on the property we looked at today advertising "two adobes." Whaddya all think? Can we fix this puppy up?

This is the other adobe on the above-mentioned property. I'm pretty sure this has a better chance of being renovated than the adobe pictured directly above. But! Compared to the one propped up by the 4 x 4--which do you think stands the best chance?

You may laugh. You may think we are tounge-in-cheek. Honestly, these are the sorts of places we can afford to buy. So. It's a damn good thing we're handy! Cheers!
